The HBCU All-Star Game Welcome Reception and Social Justice Panel Presented by AT&T Dream In Black will officially welcome guests and athletes traveling to Houston for the HBCU All-Star Game. During the reception, HBCU All-Stars LLC will host an engaging panel discussion with community leaders, and Houston sports legends, who will have discussions on key topics, with the intent to contextualize focusing on the importance of celebrating HBCUs and the role social justice plays in the lives of young Black athletes.

“Journey to Freedom Mural” Reveal

89 Ways to Give Foundation is excited to announce the official reveal of "The Journey to Freedom Mural".  The mural, which will be painted by local artist Shawn Perkins, will depict two notable Loudoun county residents, Bazil Newman, a prominent Black landowner and ferry operator, and Leonard Grimes, a Black abolitionist, who helped fleeing enslaved people find safety across the Potomac River. The mural was funded by O'Shaughnessy-Hurst Memorial

Started in 2004, the Congressional Football Game was first organized to honor and support the men and women of the U.S. Capitol Police and to support the families of fallen officers.

The biennial showdown features Members of Congress and former NFL players facing off against U.S. Capitol Police. The game is a family-friendly event that includes entertainment and spirited competition on the field, while bringing together Congressional and law enforcement communities in support of worthy causes.
